Ever since moving to Taiwan, I’ve been dressing like a slob, well, not all the time, but sometimes. I’ve been more carefree as of what I wear and how I look because living in a different context frees myself from me. I don’t think so much about whether this top is too clingy or if this buttoned down shirt doesn’t really go with a skirt. I just feel free to look however I feel that day and it’s fun to stitch together feminine/masculine bits and pieces.
I thought that I’d be restrained by my internal self once I return to Hong Kong again, but that didn’t really happen. Instead, I feel more confident in looking different (or odd) because I figured that how people see you just doesn’t matter that much to me any more.
